How to Protect your Data

MEAC Devices: If you are in one of the many clinics and your computer is on the QETSU network anything that you put in your "My Documents" while onsite will be automatically saved to our servers. This only applies to Windows devices anyone that has a Mac will need to make sure to take regular backups of saved data themselves. Since these Windows devices backup to our servers please refrain from storing personal documents and photos as to not fill up space on our servers.

ETSU Devices: If you are on an ETSU owned device that is on the ETSU network you will need to make sure that you are saving all of your data on the Q drive. Data that is not saved on that drive will be lost if there is a computer failure.

Note: It never hurts to make a  backup copy of your data onto a flash drive on a regular basis just in case something fails that is supposed to be backed up which is rare. Please do not back up patient data in this manner but if you have to make sure to put it in a secure place that no one has access to prevent a HIPAA breach.
